Our Multimedia Pioneering speaker today was Wayne Machpail. He “is a veteran freelance magazine and newspaper reporter, editor, and Internet multimedia developer.” (How to Read This Story, http://www.canoe.ca/ChiroYork/howtoread.html) Today he talked to us about podcasting and Web 2.0.

• Anyone can make one, inexpensive
• Over 15,000+ podcast worldwide
• No license needed
• In the Mainstream – BBC, CBC, NDR

Its easy to see how podcasting is taking many listeners away from the radio. People can sign up to their favourite podcast shows and recieve regular links to them. Then they can play them on their laptop/computer or put them on their iPod and listen to them anywhere, anytime.
